The William F. Graham Foundation for Melanoma Research (Billy's Foundation)
The Primary activities for this 501-C3, non-profit foundation is to raise funds in support of research designated to finding the cure for the later stages of the deadly disease, Malignant Melanoma, to educate the public regarding the cause and prevention; and through specific public awareness programs assist in the early detection of this insidious, potentially lethal cancer.

Senior Citizens Programs & Services

Bridge

Senior Bridge Learning and Social Center offers a unique opportunity to learn and practice Bridge, providing a short instruction period followed by practice, illustrations and discussion. The group meets Mondays at 11am and Fridays at 1pm at the Castro Valley Masonic Center. Partners provided on request. Call 510-886-6871 for further information.
 

Beginners Socail Duplicate Bridge Games held at Holy Sepulchre Episcopal Church, 19179 Center Street offers beginning Social Duplicate Bridge games on Monday and Friday (no bidding boxes used). The Monday game starts at 11 am (arrive 15 minutes early), and is preceded by a short instruction period. The Friday game begins at 10am. Partners furnished if requested.

Fitness & Relaxation

Seniors ages 50 and older can enjoy this free Tone & Trim class Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:30pm at the Kenneth C. Aitken Senior Center, 17800 Redwood Road.

The Fifty-Plus Fitness Association meets at 8 am (meet, greet, and review safety rules; start walking by 8:15 am) on the second and fourth Sundays of every month for a 3.8 mile walk/run along the Eastshore Trail of Lake Chabot Park. The walk lasts a little over one hour, there is no charge, and you don't have to be a member of Fifty-Plus to attend. Wear good running or walking shoes. All levels of ability are welcome.

 

If you are interested in meeting for coffeee, plan to join the group at a nearby restaurant after the walk.
