Golden Tee Golfland

2533 Castro Valley Boulevard
Castro Valley, CA 94546
Telephone: 510-537-4073

Number of Outdoor Courses: 2
Number of Indoor Courses: 0
Holes per Course: 18
Construction Type: Carpet over concrete, concrete sides

Located in the heart of Castro Valley, the Golden Tee Golfland offers two courses of varying difficulty along with a small but well maintained video arcade and a covered outdoor party area. Both courses offer a variety of hazards and although course 2, the more difficult of the two, contained a fountain. No water hazards could be found on either of the courses. Overall, the courses are well maintained including the trouble-prone moving hazards, which can be found scattered across both courses. The seventh hole on course one is probably the longest hole in the entire bay area stretching approximately 40 yards with a dog leg to the right and a slight uphill slope which leaves short shots rolling slowly back towards the tee. The majority of the hole designs are variations found at all bay area Golfland courses with some minor variations. And while the design may not be as original as others the Golden Tee still serves up a satisfying round of golf.

H.A.R.D.
Although not listed individually, many fine facilities are located in Castro Valley.
Adobe Art Center
20395 San Miguel Ave.
The Adobe Gallery was opened to the public on March 8, 1978 to serve the artists in Hayward, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, and San Leandro. It has proved to be a wonderful community resource in Castro Valley, celebrating and promoting the visual arts. Just adjacent to the center, which offers a wonderful variety of art classes and workshops, is an excellent venue for displaying the many styles and mediums of art produced by accomplished artists in the area. The structure itself was built in the 1920's by the WPA, who used adobe bricks that had been excavated from the area. They also created a beautiful copper bas relief sculpture over the fireplace which depicts the history of the area. The building served the Castro Valley School District for many years as a PTA facility, kindergarten, and day school. It is located in an elm grove that was planted by the Castro Valley Boy Scouts in 1926. The Adobe Gallery currently displays approximately nine exhibits per year, several of which are group exhibits such as the Area Artists Annual Juried Exhibit, the Art Inc. Members Exhibit, and the Spring at the Adobe Open Exhibit. Also featured are student art exhibits, children's art, and Senior art festivals. There are several smaller invitational exhibits periodically throughout the year. Portfolios are viewed at the facility from March through May for the following year.
